Music for the
Soul
Philosopher Kahlil Gilbran described Music as the language of the spirits; the melodies brought to our ears knock on the sleeping door of our feelings. As individuals, we answer that door, and it awakens memories laid hidden in the depths of our past. The soul of Music is of the spirit, and her mind is of the heart. The Eye in We as a Band has brought together a host of incredible musicians who respect what Music has to offer, and who use the gift of Music as a tool to bring to its listening audience sounds that knock on the door to each individual’s feelings.
The Meaning
The ‘Eye’ in the Eye in We is symbolized by the eye of Horus, an amulet which has it origins in Egypt. It represents rebirth, rejuvenation, health, and prosperity. It is also known as the ‘sound eye’, or the ‘third eye’. The Band’s focus is to look inward individually and collectively using our ‘sound eye’, so that we can present the Music that speaks to the soul. We try to speak to the soul by playing from the soul. Our aim is to open the door to your feelings, with the hope that you come away rejuvenated from the melodies we have to offer.
The Band’s style of play is best described as eclectic – bringing varied rhythms of traditional and contemporary jazz, neo-soul, and Rhythm and Blues. They provide the style of music you seek for your venue or function. The Band includes a vast array of artists and musicians, and is available for booking by email at david@eyeinwe.com
At its core, the band includes Drummer: David Coaxum, Guitarist: D. Michael Lyles, and Bassist: ET. ![]() |
